The 2nd German-Arab Energy Forum has been organized by the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was held under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Philipp Rösler, Federal Minister of Economics and Technology. Cooperation partners of the conference were the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries, Desertec Industrial Initiative (Dii), the German Association of Steam Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Piping Manufacturers (FDBR), the German Association of Consulting Engineers (VBI) and the World Energy Council. The Forum took place on October 20th-21st, 2011 in the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin.
Building on the success of last autumn’s 1st German-Arab Energy Forum the 2nd Forum with around 300 participants from Germany, Europe and the Arab World created ideal platform for the exchange of information on current projects, plans and, prospects for German-Arab cooperation in the energy sector once again.
In the various sessions that took place during the 2nd German-Arab Energy Forum, a broad range of topics has been covered: new partnerships in renewable energies, water desalination, power transmission and distribution, energy efficiency, power station development, training and know-how transfer, as well as security of fossil energy supplies.
We are very much looking forward to this year's 3rd German-Arab Energy Forum. The 3rd German-Arab Energy Forum will take place on October 11th and 12th, 2012 in Berlin. Details coming soon.
